I wish I'd get asked to do a podcast just about the Deliberate Strangers, a local punk band kind of in the vein of the US Bombs. Sometimes sublime, sometimes tragic, sometimes just a mess, I grew to love them as a band and as people. Aggressive and antagonistic on stage, they were usually pleasant and engaging in regular life. I bet all surviving members would say they've grown up a lot since then, though. I had the pleasure to occasionally fill in with them on drums or bass, and developed friendships that resulted in some amazing stories. I also recorded their final album, "Head for the Hills."
